Suidhe Viewpoint is situated along the historic B862 road, which is also called General Wade’s Military Road. Built under the order of George I in 1724, this road was part of a strategy to manage the Jacobite uprisings. Fort Augustus and its connecting roads played a crucial role in transporting regiments quickly to any potential hotspots. Walking or driving this road is like stepping back in time, as you follow the routes once taken by soldiers.
