Midges… are they very bad on Loch Ness?
We do experience midges in the Scottish Higlands, and they love living near waters such as Loch Ness. Smidge and other repellents are very successful at repelling midges. They only tend to come out in the evening, so if you are sitting outside, wear repellant or light a BBQ in our BBQ area to repel them. They do not come out if it is windy or a breeze is in the air.

How old is the building?
The Abbey started as a military fortress, built ca 1725. It was converted into the Abbey by 1886.
