Highland turf house recreation
The centre has recreated the interior of a Highland turf house, which includes a small theatre where shows about the old Highland way of life are held (by appointment). These thatched turf structures were traditional Scottish dwellings in the 17th century, and this recreation brings them back to life. Learn how the Highlanders dressed, and how they lived and worked. Friendly staff are on hand to tell you about the history of this fascinating period and answer any questions.
